In the tradition of KING KONG, amiable Wild West showman, Tuck Kirby (James Franciscus) is having a run of bad luck. In an effort to get his show back on track he ventures into a Mexican location known as the “Forbidden Valley” where a prehistoric horse was previously found. He has high hopes to find another such beast to use as the main attraction to his show. To his astonishment he not only discovers, but captures an Allosaurus, which is christened Gwangi. But, also in true KING KONG fashion, mayhem and havoc ensue at the show. Good stop-motion special effects by Ray Harryhausen. Directed by Jim O’Connolly.
