Four escaped prisoner lead by Rafe Zimmerman (Hugh Marlowe) take over a stage stop way station with the intent of robbing a stagecoach arriving the next day with a shipment of gold. At the mercy of the gang are an employee (Tyrone Power) and a passenger (Susan Hayward). Together they plot to thwart the gang’s plans, all while a tense battle of wits and instincts for survival are played out. Good use of Alabama Hills locations. Directed by Henry Hathaway.
