Bill Maywood (Bill Cody), posing as the Pinto Kid, is an undercover agent for Wells Fargo, sent to investigate stagecoach hold-ups in the area. He meets and falls in love with Bess Wilson (Ada Ince) and is later arrested and falsely accused of killing Bess’ father. He escapes from jail in order to track down the real killer. In the meantime, Henry Jethrow (Wheeler Oakman), the town banker who also loves Bess and is mixed up in all the criminal activity, threatens to foreclose on Bess’ ranch if she resists his unwanted advances. This film features Cody’s real-life son, Bill Jr. Good use of Alabama Hills locations. Directed by Robert F. Hill.
