Special Paramount Restoration, uncut theatrical version, 1st public screening!
Shot partly in the Alabama Hills of Lone Pine, Army Girl stars Preston Foster as pre-World War II army captain, Dike Conger, who is attempting to mechanize a calvary unit beginning with a prototype of a small, fast moving fighting tank. The co-star and love interest of Conger is Julie Armstrong (Madge Evans), who just happens to also be the daughter of base commanding officer, Colonel Armstrong (H.B. Warner). The film culminates with a great race between mounted calvary soldiers and the machine that takes place throughout the Alabama Hills.
Prior to screening, Jeff McCarty, Senior Preservation Manager with Paramount Archives, will participate in a discussion with Steve Latshaw about the film’s history and restoration.
