At the turn of the 20^th century an old Chinese gentleman (Tony Randall) rides into the town of Abalone, AZ and changes it forever with his wonders and different characters that entertain the residents and teach valuable lessons. Meanwhile, the town is under threat due to a break in the water supply system. Dr. Lao gets the townsfolk to look at life differently and to change their behavior for the better.
